Even as someone that does a fair amount of mobility work, I am still sedentary most of the day due to my job. Working from home due to the C word, I’m able to explore working from a range of positions that allow me to improve my mobility and work at the same time (without drawing a crowd).
.
Some of the positions are very difficult and can’t hold them for long. But with moderations to some of the ones I struggle with (by moderation I mean wack a pillow under my ass) and consistency,
I’m determined to get my body back to its natural set point in terms of mobility and stability it was designed to have.
.
Like most of the things that compromise our health, the chair (and sitting for 8hrs plus per day) did not feature in the thousands of years of evolution that produced the human body. The floor however, did. It is always there waiting for us to reconnect.
Foster a long term relationship with it and it will give back to you all that school classroom, your office, your sofa, have taken from you over the years.

Most importantly, I may not look like I’ve s$*t myself when I get up from sitting on the floor for longer than 2mins.

Corona Kettlebell Challenge . - 9 Exercises. - Max Corona Kettlebell Challenge

- 9 Exercises.
- Max reps in 2 minutes.
- No rest in between sets (other than to record reps/setup for next exercise)
- 20kg kettlebell (go lighter or heavier depending on equipment available and strength)
- Total exercise time 18 mins.
- Repeat every other day whilst isolating or social distancing.
- Aim to increase reps over time.
.
N.B. Didn’t have full clearance overhead, hence lack of extension overhead.
Be careful not to put Kettlebell through ceiling - Especially when your kids are fast asleep 🙄

What is this obsession with productivity? Can we e What is this obsession with productivity? Can we ever do enough? Achieve enough? Should we just say f*#k it and just do things we enjoy once in a while?

I often have to re-asses what proportion of my time is spent on productivity compared to enjoyment and re-calibrate accordingly. The irony is, each time I place emphasis on enjoyment my productivity increases.

I am reading Radical Acceptance by @tarabrach at the moment. She talks about the potential roots of this obsession.
.
‘Our cultures guiding myth is the story of Adam and Eve’s exile from the garden of Eden. We may forget it’s power because it seems so worn and familiar but this story shapes and reflects the deep psyche of the west.
.
The message of original sin is unequivocal. Because of our basic flawed nature we do not deserve to be happy, loved by others or at ease with life.
.
We are outcasts, and if we are to re-enter the garden we must redeem ourselves our sinful selves. We must overcome our flaws by controlling our bodies, controlling our emotions, controlling our natural surroundings, controlling other people.
.
We must strive tirelessly working, acquiring, consuming, achieving, emailing, over-committing and rushing in a never-ending quest to prove ourselves once and for all.’

Lower Body Squat/Hinge Session . A1/ Single Leg RD Lower Body Squat/Hinge Session

A1/ Single Leg RDL - 40kg (1/2 Bodyweight)
A2/ Single Leg Seated Pistol Squat - 20kg (1/4 Bodyweight)
.
Perform 8 reps of RDL on each leg, then 8 reps of Pistol on each leg, then back to RDL. Repeat 4x.
.
B1/ Rope Pull through 31.25kg
B2/ Gleut Bridge 30 kg
B3/ DB Deadlift 30kg x 2
.
10 reps per exercise back to back. 4 x through.

C1/ Hack Squat - 20kg 
C2 / Lunge - 10kg x 2
C3 / Jump Squat .
10 reps per exercise back to back. 4 x through.
